Sophomore to Save the Day!



Sophomore, Bridget Connell, enjoys helping people in her daily routine. She is a work study for the police station on ESU's campus. Her responsibilities include directing visitors around campus, distributing parking passes, maps, basic information about campus, answering phones, and addressing issues that may occur.
"I like working here because it gives me a real world experience and helps me learn how to handle pressure situations. I learn how to be patient with people and how to stay calm. " ~Bridget

Warrior Work Study


You can find Amanda Loeber, sophomore, in the second floor of Khoeler Fieldhouse. She is a work study for the baseball program and assists the coaching staff in daily task and recruitment. According to Amanda, the work is easy and is a good experience away from playing and the classroom. Also, she gets to learn a new sport. "I'm learning a lot about baseball since I never played before because I mostly focused on soccer." Amanda and Baseball graduate assistant, Kevin Woodbridge, are pictured to the right.

CONGRATULATIONS TO LINDSAY AND KB!


This week, both senior captains were named ESPN the Magazine Academic All District. Lindsay was named second team and KB was named third team. Both players are very accomplished in the classroom. Lindsay graduated early with a 4.0 average and is currently a graduate student in Speech Pathology at ESU. KB has 3.88 GPA and is a Physical Therapy major. She is also looking to continue her education in graduate school.

Over the weekend, the team celebrated Halloween by dressing up. Ashley, Mo, and Carly showed their creativity with their costumes. I wonder where they ever got their inspirations from. Haha!

SENIOR DAY: THANK YOU KB AND LINDSAY!







Saturday night, ESU Women's Soccer honored their two senior captains, #7 KB Buckley and #11 Lindsay Foder.

KB started 79 of the 80 games and has a total of 45 points with 13 assists and 16 goals in her college soccer career. Lindsay finished her final season with 21 goals and 6 assists for 58 points and had 73 starts. She earned All-Region recognition as a sophomore and junior and was a first team Academic All-District pick last fall.

Both seniors appeared in 3 PSAC tournament appearances and one NCAA tournament appearance. Not only did these two seniors contribute goals and assists on the field, but also gave their all in the classroom and supported the soccer program throughout their time at ESU. KB and Lindsay will be greatly missed by the team and we wish them the best of luck in the future!

The Keisers: Sisterly Love




Megan (Junior)and Nicki (Freshman) Keiser, both realize the strong bond they have together as sisters on and off the field.

I love playing with my sister. It's just like high school again. I have the confidence that she will do well and score. And Meg knows that I will do my job at the other end.

Megan has a total of 3 goals and 2 assists and has tallied up 8 points for the seasons. Nicki has also done well this year, with 3 shutouts in 4 career starts.

Warriors' 4 Game Winning Streak!



Over the weekend, ESU women's soccer added to more wins against Mansfield (3-0)on Saturday and University of Charleston (1-0)on Sunday. Captain, KB Buckley lead the way with her second goal of the season again Mansfield. Megan Keiser and Elva Composto both had goal a piece for the victory.

On Sunday, the weather was hot in West Virginia, and the team faced off with the University of Charleston. Junior, Megan Keiser had the only goal of the game which was just enough for the big W.

Warriors 4 Chestnut Hill 0





Wednesday afternoon, the Warriors stormed the field and won 4-0 over Chestnut Hill. Sophomore, Briget Connell lead the way with an unassisted goal. Freshman, Michelle Gogolen followed with another before the end of the half. Captain, KB Buckley and freshman, Kerri McClay also added a goal each to finish the game. Juniors, Linda "Tini" Martine and Elva Composto were both credited assists. This victory was an overall team effort.

With two wins in a row, the team be on the road again this weekend, heading to Mansfield and University of Charleston.

Weekend Away and Breakfast Brunch




Early Saturday, the Warriors had a hearty team breakfast and was ready to play in the early afternoon. On the road, ESU Women's soccer beat IUP 1-0 in the final minutes of regulation.

PKS and Breast Cancer Awareness

To support Breast Cancer Awareness, the team had a fun competition at practice. Each player was allowed to take a penalty kick on Coach Berkowitz by giving a small donation. If the player scored, Coach Berkowitz would then donate as well. After 25 penalty kicks and a good work out, Coach Berkowitz saved 17 shots. Junior, Sarah Rothrock, exclaimed, "Today's practice was epic!"
