PSAC OPENING WEEKEND


Friday afternoon, the Warriors took the field and defeated Clarion University 2-0. Freshman Lauren Buchanan-Dwyer had her first goal of her career, and sophomore, Kerri McClay had her second of the season. Brit Wagner also posted her second shut out. The Warriors will host Edinboro University tomorrow at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Warriors Battle Rain & Alderson-Broaddus







Tuesday evening, the Warriors battled Alderson-Broaddus in the heavey rain. Junior, Julian Cree and senior, Devon Miniscalco netted two goals which ended the match in a 2-0 victory.
Brittian Wagner, sophomore goalkeeper had her first shutout of the season working alongside the back four, junior captains, Carly Collins and Ashley McKenna, senior, Linda Martine, and freshman, Lexie Peveraro. This weekend the Warriors will take on Clarion on Friday and Edinboro on Saturday in the PSAC.

Opening Weekend and Overtime Victory!!!

The Warriors opened with a 4-3 overtime win over Georgian Court on Friday evening. In the first half, Kerri McClay found the back of the net, assisted by Bridget Connell. Bridget then finished the half with her own goal assisted by Ashley McKenna. Georgian Court answered back in the second half, but ESU kept the pressure on and an own goal by Georgian Court tied it up which put the game into overtime. Carly Collins, junior, scored a the game winning goal off a corner from senior, Megan Keiser in the opening minutes of the first period. The Warriors' next home game will take place on Tuesday against Alderson-Broaddus.

Leaving Their Mark: Captains and Seniors

Captains Carly Collins, Sarah Rothrock, and Ashley McKenna look forward to this fall season. The three captains have lead the team by example this preseason and will continue to guide the team with their experiences and positive attitudes.



Seniors, Melissa Myers, Sarah Rothrock, Elva Composto, Megan Keiser, Linda Martine, and Devon Miniscalco are eager to leave their mark on ESU Women's soccer. They have bonded over the last three years together and will continue to grow as individuals and as a group in their final season.

C.W. Post, Earthquake, TCNJ, and Hurricane Irene... Oh My!




The Warriors traveled to Long Island for the first scrimmage of the season against C.W. Post. The earthquake did not stop the team from shaking up things on the field that day.


Later in the week, the team tested themselves against the College of New Jersey at home. The scrimmage was pushed up to Friday to avoid Hurricane Irene.

Bowling and Bonding



The Lady Warriors competed off the field today and bonded over bowling.

Down Time In the Dorms

Day 4 of preseason, the team relaxes in the lobby of Hawthorne Hall. Together, they have endured move in, fitness tests, thunderstorms, and a few two a days. Now the players, take time out to get to know the newcomers and recover from a long morning of training.

Move In Day: Preseason Begins Tomorrow

The East Stroudsburg University Women's Soccer program gears up for its upcoming fall with preseason practices starting tomorrow. Sunday evening the players moved in together to begin the new year and are eager to begin training.

ESU National Girls and Women's in Sports Day



The Warriors volunteered their time for the National Girls and Women's in Sports Day at ESU. The team hosted a mini clinic for young girls from around the area with fellow women sport teams: Field Hockey, Basketball, Track & Field, and Softball. They enjoyed the morning showing new players skills of the game with dribbling games.

Hitting the Weights



After the start of classes, the team gets back in the training room. Lifting twice a week, the girls go back to work and are given a specific program which will increase their endurance, strength, and explosive power on the field.
